Terms of Service

Clear terms for research, outreach, campaigns, payments, and author services.

These Terms explain how Brand Builders Connect works with authors, how our research and visibility recommendations should be understood, what happens before paid work begins, and where third party decisions remain outside our control.

Research led outreach Written scope before payment No guaranteed outcomes

Our basic standard

Authors should understand what BBC is proposing, what is being delivered, and what cannot be guaranteed before committing to paid campaign work.

Research is research.
A potential opportunity is not automatically an endorsement, partnership, placement, or acceptance.
Scope comes first.
Custom paid campaign work should have written deliverables, timeline, and payment details.
Authors stay in control.
BBC does not require authors to surrender ownership or control of their publishing accounts.

Built around clearer expectations.

Brand Builders Connect is a research led author visibility and book growth agency operating through P Jones Connect. Our work can include research, personalized visibility roadmaps, campaign strategy, audience discovery, outreach, campaign execution, author resources, and related book growth support.

Research

Opportunities are evaluated before campaigns are proposed

BBC may research books, readers, communities, organizations, podcasts, reviewers, media, institutions, retailers, and other potential visibility paths.

Campaign work

Paid work follows an agreed scope

Where BBC and an author decide to work together, the specific campaign deliverables, timeline, investment, and requirements should be confirmed in writing.

Outcomes

No fabricated guarantees

BBC does not guarantee sales, bestseller status, reviews, rankings, media coverage, institutional adoption, or acceptance by any third party.

Terms of Service

Effective Date: September 9, 2026

These Terms of Service apply to the use of brandbuildersconnect.com, Brand Builders Connect resources, research, Book Growth Roadmaps, author outreach, campaign proposals, digital products, paid services, payment pages, communication verification systems, and related interactions with BBC.

Brand Builders Connect is a research led author visibility and book growth agency operating through P Jones Connect. BBC works with authors and publishing professionals to research visibility opportunities, diagnose discovery gaps, develop campaign strategies, support outreach, and where separately agreed, execute author visibility and book growth campaigns.

A BBC research finding or recommended opportunity does not mean that the organization, community, podcast, reviewer, institution, retailer, media outlet, platform, or other third party mentioned has endorsed the author, approved the campaign, partnered with BBC, or agreed to participate.

1. Acceptance of these Terms

By using this website, submitting information, requesting a Roadmap, purchasing a digital resource, accepting a campaign proposal, making payment, or engaging BBC for services, you agree to these Terms and any written project scope applicable to the service you purchase.

Where a separate written project agreement contains terms specific to a particular engagement, those project specific terms may supplement these Terms.

2. Use of this website

You may use the BBC website to learn about our services, access resources, submit book information, request a Roadmap, verify communication, review campaign information, contact our team, and access approved payment pages.

You may not use the website for fraud, impersonation, spam, unauthorized access, malicious activity, scraping intended to reproduce BBC proprietary materials, or other unlawful purposes.

3. Research and Book Growth Roadmaps

BBC may independently research publicly available information about books, authors, genres, reader communities, organizations, podcasts, reviewers, institutions, retailers, media outlets, online communities, publishing platforms, and other potential visibility opportunities.

BBC may use that research to contact an author with a personalized observation, opportunity, visibility idea, or Book Growth Roadmap.

A Roadmap is intended to help identify possible visibility gaps and practical campaign directions. Unless explicitly described otherwise in writing, receiving a Roadmap does not create a paid client relationship or require the author to purchase services.

Roadmaps may contain strategic recommendations based on the information reasonably available to BBC at the time of research.

4. Third party opportunities and affiliations

BBC may identify a book club, community, association, organization, podcast, reviewer, blogger, media outlet, institution, retailer, library, event, educational program, influencer, professional group, or other third party as a possible fit for an author's book.

Unless BBC explicitly states otherwise in writing, identifying such an opportunity does not mean:

  • The third party has approved or endorsed the author's book.
  • The third party has agreed to feature, purchase, review, discuss, stock, adopt, or promote the book.
  • BBC represents or acts on behalf of the third party.
  • BBC is officially affiliated with the third party.
  • The third party has approved BBC's recommendation.
  • Acceptance or placement is guaranteed.

BBC distinguishes between a researched potential opportunity and a confirmed relationship or placement. We will not intentionally present the former as the latter.

5. Campaign and author visibility services

Paid services may include Amazon positioning, metadata and conversion support, Goodreads discovery strategy, reader and audience research, author positioning, book launch or relaunch planning, content strategy, outreach research, campaign preparation, community placement outreach, reviewer outreach, institutional outreach, advertising strategy, email strategy, author platform development, digital production, and other agreed visibility work.

The exact services provided depend on the written scope agreed for the project.

Before custom paid campaign work begins, BBC should provide or confirm the relevant deliverables, timeline, investment, payment instructions, and any important project requirements in writing.

6. Outreach and campaign representation

Where outreach is included in a paid project, BBC may contact relevant third parties concerning the author's book or campaign.

BBC will not knowingly claim that an author has been accepted, endorsed, approved, selected, featured, or partnered with a third party when that has not occurred.

Outreach does not guarantee a reply, meeting, review, feature, interview, placement, purchase, adoption, partnership, or other response.

Third parties remain free to accept, reject, ignore, postpone, modify, or independently evaluate any outreach they receive.

7. Research accuracy and changing public information

BBC makes reasonable efforts to base personalized research and campaign recommendations on relevant information available at the time the research is performed.

However, public information can change. Book listings, Goodreads pages, Amazon metadata, organization websites, community activity, contact details, platform statistics, moderator status, publishing information, reviews, rankings, membership figures, and third party policies may be updated after BBC completes its research.

Authors are encouraged to point out material inaccuracies. Where appropriate, BBC may correct or update campaign recommendations before paid execution begins.

8. Digital products and resources

BBC may offer downloadable or electronically delivered resources such as the Author Visibility Starter Kit, checklists, worksheets, planners, workbooks, templates, guides, and other educational materials.

Digital products are intended for educational, strategic, planning, and self guided use.

Purchasing a resource does not guarantee book sales, reviews, rankings, placements, media coverage, or any other commercial result.

Unless written permission is provided, BBC digital products may not be resold, publicly redistributed, reproduced for commercial distribution, uploaded for public access, or represented as another person's original work.

9. Payments, payment verification, and currency

Payment may be required for agreed campaign services, consulting, digital resources, custom strategy work, campaign execution, or other clearly identified paid services.

Payment instructions should only be followed when they are provided through a verified BBC communication channel or an official BBC payment page.

BBC may use third party payment processors, including Paystack, to process transactions.

Depending on the payment processor, acquiring bank, card network, settlement infrastructure, or current BBC payment configuration, an international author's payment may be displayed or processed in Nigerian Naira even where the campaign price has been quoted primarily in United States Dollars.

Where a USD campaign price and a Naira equivalent are shown, the USD amount represents the primary quoted campaign value unless the applicable payment page or written agreement states otherwise.

Currency conversion rates can change. The author's bank, card issuer, payment network, or payment processor may apply its own conversion rate, international transaction charge, processing fee, or other bank fee. Such third party charges are outside BBC's control.

Authors should verify unusual payment requests through the BBC Verify Communication or Payment & Verification pages before sending funds.

BBC is not responsible for payments voluntarily sent to impersonators, fraudulent accounts, or payment destinations that were not verified as authorized BBC channels.

10. Refunds and cancellations

Refund eligibility depends on the type of service or digital product purchased, the work already completed, expenses already incurred, and the applicable written project scope.

Custom research, completed strategy work, delivered campaign assets, completed outreach, completed project milestones, purchased third party services, and downloaded digital products may be treated differently from work that has not yet begun.

Please review the BBC Refund Policy and any project specific written terms before payment.

11. No guaranteed results

BBC does not guarantee:

  • Book sales
  • Bestseller status
  • Amazon rankings
  • Goodreads ratings or reviews
  • Retail placement
  • Book club selection
  • Institutional adoption
  • Media coverage
  • Podcast appearances
  • Reviewer acceptance
  • Community acceptance
  • Advertising performance
  • Specific return on investment
  • Influencer participation
  • Algorithmic visibility
  • Third party responses

BBC's role is to improve the quality of research, positioning, campaign structure, visibility systems, outreach direction, reader discovery, and execution within the agreed scope.

12. Publishing accounts, passwords, and access

Authors retain ownership and control of their Amazon, KDP, Goodreads, social media, email, advertising, publishing, and other third party accounts.

BBC does not require an author to permanently surrender control of those accounts as a condition of working with us.

Where access is genuinely required for an agreed service, the type and purpose of access should be explained before it is provided. Authors should use platform approved permission systems or limited access methods where available.

Authors should never send banking passwords, card PINs, authentication codes, or unrelated sensitive financial credentials to BBC representatives.

13. Author and client responsibilities

Authors and clients are responsible for providing accurate project information, book details, publishing information, campaign objectives, materials, links, approvals, and other information reasonably required to perform the agreed work.

The author represents that they have the right to provide and authorize the use of any manuscript excerpts, cover artwork, photographs, testimonials, descriptions, logos, videos, documents, or other materials supplied to BBC.

Authors remain responsible for final publishing decisions, pricing decisions, platform decisions, campaign approvals, advertising budgets, and public claims made in their own name.

14. Revisions, approvals, and scope changes

Revision allowances may vary by project and should be confirmed in the written scope.

Revision requests must relate to the agreed deliverable. Materially new deliverables, additional campaigns, expanded research, new audiences, additional outreach categories, or substantial changes to an approved direction may require a revised scope and additional fee.

Once work has been approved, published, delivered, used, or passed beyond an agreed revision period, additional changes may be treated as new work.

15. Intellectual property

BBC website content, proprietary frameworks, internal research systems, templates, checklists, workbooks, campaign frameworks, digital products, page copy, and other original BBC materials remain the property of BBC or the applicable rights holder unless otherwise agreed in writing.

Client owned books, manuscripts, trademarks, covers, author photographs, and other client supplied intellectual property remain the property of the client or applicable rights holder.

Rights in custom deliverables created for a client may be governed by the applicable project scope or written agreement.

16. Third party platforms

BBC may research, recommend, discuss, or work with platforms and services such as Amazon, Goodreads, Meta platforms, payment processors, book retailers, advertising platforms, social networks, email services, blogs, podcasts, communities, media organizations, libraries, and other external services.

BBC does not own or control those third parties. Their algorithms, rules, prices, policies, account decisions, availability, moderation, payment processing, and performance may change without BBC's control.

References to third party names do not imply endorsement, sponsorship, affiliation, or partnership unless explicitly stated.

17. Communication and verification

BBC may communicate through official brand email addresses, website forms, verified representatives, and other approved channels.

Authors who receive an unexpected offer, payment request, representative claim, invoice, or unusual instruction should verify it through the official BBC website before acting.

Official communication can be checked through the Verify Communication page or by contacting team@brandbuildersconnect.com.

18. Prohibited use and unethical activity

BBC services may not be used to request, facilitate, or knowingly support:

  • Fake reviews or ratings
  • Fake book purchases
  • Fabricated testimonials
  • False endorsements
  • Impersonation
  • Deceptive affiliation claims
  • Fraudulent bestseller claims
  • Platform manipulation
  • Harassment or abusive outreach
  • Illegal or intentionally deceptive marketing activity

BBC may decline or terminate work that requires unethical, deceptive, fraudulent, or platform violating conduct.

19. Refusal, suspension, or termination of service

BBC may refuse, pause, or terminate a project where a client materially violates these Terms, requests unethical activity, fails to provide required information, repeatedly prevents agreed work from being performed, engages in abusive conduct, fails to make an agreed payment, or materially breaches the written project scope.

Any financial consequences of termination will be assessed according to work completed, applicable project terms, the Refund Policy, and applicable law.

20. Limitation of liability

BBC provides research, visibility strategy, campaign support, outreach, digital resources, and related services. Many commercial outcomes depend on readers, platforms, organizations, reviewers, algorithms, market conditions, publishers, retailers, advertising systems, and other third parties outside BBC's control.

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Brand Builders Connect's aggregate liability arising from a specific paid service or digital product will not exceed the amount actually paid to BBC for the specific service or product giving rise to the claim.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where such exclusion or limitation is prohibited by applicable law.

21. Disputes and concerns

If you have a concern about research, a Roadmap, campaign delivery, payment, digital resources, communication, or another BBC service, please contact the team through an official channel so the issue can be reviewed.

Relevant written scopes, invoices, payment records, delivery records, approvals, communication history, and applicable policies may be used when reviewing a dispute.

22. Updates to these Terms

BBC may update these Terms when our services, payment infrastructure, outreach processes, website, resources, operational structure, or applicable requirements change.

The effective date displayed near the top of this page indicates when the Terms were last materially updated.
